Gerald 'Gus' Finkle, 63, passed away on December 17, 2020. Gus was born in Polo, IL to Eleanor Jean (Wilde) Finkle and Gerald Cecil Finkle on January 10, 1957. Gus was a devoted father and grandfather. Better known as 'Coach Gus' his love for teaching the fundamentals and values of sports extended beyond his children as he touched many lives throughout his time. He focused on teamwork; execute the sacrifice bunt, be willing to block and tackle, assists are just as good as points. He was an avid music fan and loved classic rock. Tom Petty, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Foo Fighters were the sound track of his home. He was passionate and made the most of every moment he had on Earth.

Gus' family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to local little leagues. Thank you to Gus' sister, Sheryl, and her family, as well as his cousins, David and Lorene Finkle, for their generous donations to the Kirkland Boys Youth Baseball league in his memory. These donations will provide scholarships to qualifying baseball players in Kirkland with the hope that they grow up loving the game just like Gus did.
